Meet Donald A. Flihan, DDS, MD

Dr. Flihan is a native of Utica and a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester, received his D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, and his M.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. Dr. Flihan completed a formal accredited six-year hospital-based residency training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Buffalo.

Following his education and training, Dr. Flihan returned to his hometown of Utica and began his practice there in 2003. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He maintains hospital staff privileges at Faxton-St. Luke’s HealthCare and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, and ECMC in Buffalo.

Dr. Flihan currently serves as President of the Fifth District Dental Society and is a member of numerous local, state, and national dental, medical, and oral and maxillofacial surgery organizations, including:
